SOUL Tape

'A suit and a fitted on some draft day shxt'

Fabolous dropped his ‘Soul Tape’ mixtape. I love it! I love anything Fabolous actually. But I am a musical critic, meaning if it was truly, for lack of better term ‘womp’ I would not forget to say so. The mixtape has 14 tracks and I like every one of them. So far my favorites are ‘In the Morning’ and ‘Mo Brooklyn, Mo Harlem, Mo Southside’ featuring Vado, and Lloyd Banks. ‘Mo Brooklyn, Mo Harlem, Mo Southside’ is modeled after old track ‘Mo Money, Mo Murder, Mo Homicide’ by AZ and Nas. This same beat was also sampled by Dipset on the 'Real Niggas' track.

My husband & the track list.

What I think is the best part of this mixtape, are the beats! The beats just are #smoove son. Ryan Leslie I believe did the beat for ‘Look At Her’ featuring Ne-Yo and himself. This song is a part II to ‘You be Killin’em’. You
can tell it’s a Ryan Leslie ass beat though, that joint sound like 'Diamond Girl' on the low.

*BUT I don't know if it will have a buzz like TINC2.

From looking at my followers on Twitter I already seen some punch line tweets, even Facebook. Twitter profiles are going to start changing sooner or later whether people will change their biographical information or the whole twittername to go with the mixtape. Twitter names gon be '@MoSouthside'.

A tweet/status I have seen a couple times already is “If everybody’s a boss, then who’s really working?”.  [Shoot, I tweeted it!]. One of the realist things I’ve ever heard. People so ready to say they run something, but yet do not put in the work, who’s really working?! Not you, cuz you boss right? #FOH

But listen to the track below....

Joint go hard don't it? But this my favorite for right now lol. And i love each one of dem on this track, each for reason separate from music making [=X]

But download the mixtape-- >>>SOUL Tape Download<<<

Sideline Ho.

So I have seen this subject come up numerous times on Twitter and Facebook....SIDELINE HOS!

Okay a sideline who is defined as:
SIDELINE HO: (n)
Being a mistress, or just a girlfriend on the side.
Basically a home wrecking heffa, looking to snatch someone else's man!
They can lie and front like "Oh, I didn't know he had a girl"

#FOH

Granted sometimes they don't know and the dude let them think they are the main chick! Getting these poor women confused. They pull stunts like this....

Smooth, but TRIFLING!

OR some women know they are sidelines and don't mind that. Why the eff would you want to be a side piece? Yeah Fab said 'the entree ain't as good without something on the side' but nobody wants to be that side dish broccoli, you was blanched not steamed, aka you aint cooked, meaning we sliding you off the plate, plus, broccoli gives you gas. Women need to aim to be that steak in the middle of the plate!

nuttin more nuttin less...

You are a sideline if you he only pick up the phone for ya ass between 9pm-6am. You only get free minutes, niggas ain't trynna use daytime minutes on you, those are for wifey.

Sidelines don't get to meet family. They meet the homeboys, cuz homeboys don't care who you are, cuz they want to hit that too!

Wifey gets the cooked meals and the chill sessions at the crib. Sidelines only eat out, and get the last of the Doritos and skittles you left on in the car. She never sees the crib, just the wallpapers of hotels or a homeboy house, shoot her own walls.

Nobody should want to be a sideline!

Sometimes the sidelines get a little out of hand! They try to overstep their boundaries. You agreed to be a sideline, so stay ya ass on the side! If you agree to this transaction, this deposit, ain't no cash back! Either you stay on the sidelines of get ya behind off the court, blow the whistle on that ass!

SIDELINES NEED TO REMEMBER...KNOW YOUR ROLE & SHUT YOUR MOUTH!

ReturnOf4Eva Big K.R.I.T

'Rise and shine, the latest i can be is on time'

So the Meridian, Mississippi native Justin Scott, or known by his stage name, Big K.R.I.T dropped 'ReturnOf4Eva'. The mixtape is #smoove. The beats are what really got me, and then i listened to the words. Artists featured on here include David Banner, Chamillionaire, Raheem DeVaughn & Ludacris.

I feel like this is one of those joints you roll down your windows and just bump on a summer night, even something you could roll to. [Especially 'Time Machine' lol]

A couple of the tracks on it are inspiring, like 'Rise and Shine' and 'Lions and Lambs' as well as 'Another Naive Individual Glorifying Greed and Encouraging Racism' --The longest title of a track i've ever seen but it's one of the realest songs I've ever heard."The Vent" is too!

Even just some lines like "Don't be wasting time, 'cause time is all you have. Don't be chasing hoes, boy go chase this cash."

K.R.I.T is a great lyricist.

I personally am very big on the hardcore East Coast rap, but some southern rappers stand out to me, K.R.I.T being one of them. The only other Mississippi rapper i know of is David Banner, but K.R.I.T been on the come up and now he's here! :D

American Rapstar is one of my favorite tracks on ReturnOf4Eva. I must say i love the whole thing, but, i'll just give ya'll a little taste.

Smooth right?

*Another song, i like is "Rotatin' ". Which I realized the beat kind of sounds like Wiz khalifa's "Time Goes By" from the Prince of the City 2 mixtape.  But uh.....

Pac Div

I been gone for a minute now I'm back with the blogspot!

So it's been a while but I am ready to share some good music with ya'll!

California trio Pac Div, has dropped a new mixtape titled 'Mania'. I Have been listening to it for about 3 to 4 days straight. So yeah, i love it :)

The mixtape is smoooove.. *hood booger voice*

Pac Div or Pacific Division, normally intertwine comedy in their bars, making you love them more.

My favorite songs on this mixtape are 'Show You', 'The Mirror' and 'Saved'. A couple tracks are inspirational too, at least I think they are, 'The Mirror' being one of them with lines like 'You don't get nothing, if you don't work hard, you never earn stripes if you don't have scars.' The song is about looking in the mirror and evaluating yourself and that you can do anything and everything but it starts with whats in the mirror.

I think 'Out' is also inspirational. The chorus says 'I want to get out of this house, i want to make my family proud, imma show this world what I'm all about, I'm out!' -- would have been my theme song for high school and going to college.

I first fell in love with Pac Div in high school when i heard 'Women Problems' -- still my favorite song by them. check it out...

So take my word for it, it's a good mixtape now go out there and download it!

Is this yours?

I see your tracks!

There is nothing more disappointing than bad hair. A lot of people take pride in their hair, it is a part of their vanity. And people are quite vain these days. Girls especially take pride in having "good hair", nice and long. Of course they wish it was theirs but if every single girl has the same hair with the Chinese bang...ITS A WEAVE! You ain't fooling nobody.

Nobody's weave should look like the fur on a North face coat or feel like tennis balls.

Ungh! *Rick Ross Voice*

I feel like it's in college that you see the WORST weave jobs. I've seen tracks hanging off rusty braids just sitting behind some girls in class, like...

c'mon son *Ed Lover voice*.

I don't want to feel like I can straight sneeze and blow your tracks out. They are supposed to be tight and secure! You can't be avoiding windy days because your tracks ain't tight. Because you tracks will get BODIED!

I shouldn't be able to know how to get from Jamaica, Queens to Flatbush looking in the back of your head.. I SEE YOUR TRACKS!

I chose the colorful tracks because some of ya'll got colorful tracks.

Some people just have no business wearing weaves though. If you hair ain't no longer than *snap* then #stop. If you do not have enough hair to cover your tracks on top then who are you trying to fool?!

Can you imagine how many horses running around tailless because 75% of New York City got they're mane & tails?

Now...LACEFRONTS? those are just DISRESPECTFUL. #thatisall.
Like, why don't you have a hairline?

I mean wear a weave if you feel you must, but make it a GOOD one. Stop saying its Remy when its this....

YAKI!

And some girls just keep they're weaves in for TOOO long, And they get ohdee dust and dandruff build up and all that nast. Eww son. Like the dust bunnies in your head should not be living life all normal in your tracks.

So take out that bad weave, BUT  do not throw it out, make it useful, use it again...

 LOL !

AND DON'T DO THIS TO YOUR BABY!  >:O

BUT I do commend the sisters who take care of their hair and make sure their weave is looking correct. I just wish all of ya'll would. =/

Boston Cypher

Listen Up!

So I really don't remember what I came across this video. I just know that I was discussing with a friend rap battles and began looking up cyphers on youtube.

A cypher:
1. Anything cyclical.
2. If your freestyling [not a battle], you rap in a cypher (one after the other). Interrupting another man will break that cypher (unless he's next in line and the dude behind him is falling off).
3.The same concept applies to burning; there is a set order to who hits next (pass it to the left my friends)
4. Never break the damn cypher.

I seen some good ones, then I thought about Boston [my hometown] and seen this. Not bad at all. Shoutout to Beantown :)

Booger Pickin'!

The Hood Booger Crusade--Its movin'! *Red Cafe Voice*

So Vado got a video for his song 'Polo' (remix) with Yung Dro. [I think Vado looks good.]

But this video had me thinking... "Why everybody wearing Polo, NOW? It's always been around."

I think I started noticing it last year, that EVERY dude had on Polo, If it wasn't the Rugby shirts they had on the hoodies. I thought it was a Brooklyn thing but then i peeped it in Harlem [where VADO is from--duh!]

It's just not Polo though, people just been rocking that big name fashion stuff, not to mention expensive

I know you have seen dudes in a shiny Moncler coat or vest, Prada/Louis/Gucci sneakers, or the hard exterior Ugg boots with the True Religion jeans & the Burberry hoodie.

Or the girls in the Ugg boots [I won't front, I do own a pair] the Juicy Couture sweat suit or the Victoria Secret PINK sweat suit. With the little bag with the teacup Yorkie in tow. [the official hood booger/hood rat dog]

[OH & girls wear Ruby Polos too]

They dudes also like rocking the Polo or Burberry draws and got their jeans saggin so you can see them. I do not need to know that you have on expensive draws! AND they like rocking the Polo pajama pants, nobody sees you in your sleep, what you need to sleep in style for? [-__-] People will argue 'But they wear them outside' But why? are they not for inside? Nobody needs to be walking around with 100 plus horses on their pants, you're not a jockey.

I'm not saying the attire is what makes the person a booger, because i know plenty of people who obtain these items of clothing [myself included] and are not considered boogers.

A 'HOOD BOOGER' is defined as:
noun
1. A girl or guy that will never leave their hood their ghetto.
2.  A skank [men are skanks too] from the hood that's messed with everyone in the same hood

*I presume that those identified as 'hood boogers' also proceed to be 'hood rich'

'HOOD RICH'
adjective
1. Exhibiting flamboyant spending habits, while doing nothing to improve one’s living conditions
2. With extravagent luxuries that they clearly cannot afford and they live in the hood or have a hood lifestyle
3. A Repo-Man's wet dream.

BUT I know you have seen these people dressed in this attire BUT they riding the B82 bus to Rockaway or gallivanting around Broadway Junction & Jamaica Station in Queens #stopit5--now you can EASILY identify a hood booger.

*Yung Dro gained weight though...But it looks good on him, he looks better this way.

This songs goes hard though and I like the video so I posted it. Enjoy :)

Polo this, Polo That!
*So next time you making your moves and you peep one--PICK IT-pull out the Puffs tissues, 'cause the boogers is out!

A Heart Is A House For Love

5 Heartbeats.

"Nights like this, I wish raindrops would faaaaaaaall"

I know somebody reading this remembers this movie!! The Five Heartbeats was such a good movie. [My buddy John's favorite movie]

Early 1960's, a group of 5 hopeful young black men form an amateur vocal group: The Five Heartbeats. After a difficult start, the group improves, turn pro, and become a top flight music sensation. Along the way however, the 5 learn many hard lessons about the reality of the music industry as well as it's casual racism and greed while the personal weaknesses of the members threaten to destroy the integrity of the band and battles with drugs.

I have a reason to believe this movie was modeled after the temptations story--just altered. I just really like this movie and want everyone to watch it [Lol

NYC Adventures [Red Lobster Trip]

So I told this story at least 4 times since these incidents occurred….

Before we left :)

October 23, 2010
. My roommate Chanel and I decided we wanted to go to Red Lobster that night on 42nd in Time Square after she gets off work. Chanel got off work at 10:30pm; considering NYC is the city that doesn’t sleep we went into the city anyway. We got all fly and what not, got to the Kew Gardens train station by 11:50. The restaurant stops serving people at 1. So we had time to get there. On the E train, if it is express, it only takes 20-30mins. We got on the E, it was local (-_-). We arrived at 71-Forest Hills stop (about 3 or 4 stops away from where we started) and the train was held. Then an express F train (E & F take the same route) pulls up, we run for that one. Upon running on this train we run into the car with a homeless brotha at the end seat. Then he says “It’s not every day I get to see beautiful women running onto the train in my direction. What an auspicious occasion." [-_-] Then he continues to complement our flyness, asking if we going to the club, or are we just dressed to look good, do we do this every day..Blah blah blah. Then an MTA worker comes to the doors and says ‘Ya’ll get comfortable cuz you aint goin nowhere for a while’ [say what?] SO we get off and are standing on the platform, as Chanel complains we are being swiss cheesed [meaning to stare as someone so hard you putting holes through them, like swiss cheese] by some thug-a-boos  [you know the typical, shiny bubble coat/vest with the Gucci belts and True Religion jeans and the polo rubgy shirts.]. Then another MTA worker comes by we ask what is going on and he says ‘We have a customer injury situation a couple stops up.’ Meaning? He saw my face then said ‘A man jumped or fell on the train tracks and so we need to shut down the electricity on this side, so there will be no train service to the city.’ [-______________-] Those were our faces. So we walked up and switched to get on the E back towards Queens. As we sat on the train we were so deep in convo [complaining] that when I looked up we passed Kew Gardens and so if We wanted to go back to school, We couldn’t.

When things started going downhill.

So in order to not pay MTA anymore money we improvised and jumped on the J train. As the J goes above ground we start making phone calls as to what should we do? [BTW the J train has to go through Brooklyn before it gets to the City] We made some calls and our homeboy Quamane [Bronson as we call him follow him on twitter--> @iAM_BrOnSoN] he says he will meet us in the city. Great, now we have a plan. BUT soon as the J crosses into Brooklyn, we are held up again. Over the intercom you hear the MTA worker telling a person to get out from between the doors so we can go. As the fool [person holding up the train] walks down the platform he is yelling and cursing, saying ‘I don’t give a fxck, im a gangsta, I know people, keep fxcking with me’ Im like huh? Then he is walking by our train car and smacks his hands up against the train screaming ‘REAL FXCKING G!’ mind you as he yells this he is staring at me [O_o] when I look over at him this fool is arguing with his BABY MOTHER! Her belly way out to here ---------------> she looks ready to pop! If she sneezes she would probably deliver her baby.  Then she yells ‘uh uh fxck you nigga!’ [word tho?] then she tries to walk away from him and gets on the next car but he follows her and stands between the doors. By this time it is like 12:45 am. So NOSEY PEOPLE had their heads stickin out the train watching him wild out and then I went off What the hell? Mind you business and get ya behind in the train to se can get the hell on!’ For like another 15 mins we sat, the man is in the next car still going off, while we wait for the cops to come pick him up.  When the cops came, the J continued, even skipped stops. 3 stops later we are at Broadway Junction [you probably thinkin its not a good look to be at Broadway junction at like 1am] But anyway we head down the escalator that I swear are on like a 90 degree angle. Had Nelly and I leaning going down the escalator.

As soon as we got down to the A train platform, it pulled up and we jumped on. The doors close and right away to big ass black dudes stand up. Dressed in black hoodies and those black coats with the orange on the inside.  Then he shouted ‘I need everybody to get FOCUSED!’ instantly I thought, Lord Jesus, please don’t let me get shot tonight, cuz I cant explain to my mother why I was on the A train at 1am. Then he said ‘I said focus, cuz the store is OPEN!’ [HUH? *Vado voice*] Then these fools pulled out nutcrackers [you know those lil drinks, made with juice and liquor in the little cute bottle] from their bags! I started rollin! Then the other dude said ‘we got lossies 75 cents or 3 for a dolla, & movies 2 for 5, wussup?!’ Their faces were so serious and they had a whole campaign! “Movies, cancer sticks & liqs!’ I was sooooo done. After they advertised they switched cars at the next stop. Then from the A, all frustrated we walked through 42nd Port Authority we walked up the stairs to hit the street and the first thing I see is “Red Lobster” [-__-] We were tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

We decided to go to McDonald’s and sit to wait for Bronson and his homeboy Che [who i think is an adorable lil man, kinna like a mouse ^_^]. While we were walking I had some dudes walked by me and Nelly saying we were beautiful, had dudes callin us divas, dudes trynna bag and what not. Even just sittin in Micky Dees, dudes looking at us, Talking to Chanel saying ‘ Ma, why the face, you too cute to be looking all mad’ #FOH. Time passes, the boys come [Bronson & Che] we chillin, laughing, talkin all that good stuff. Then this girl walkin by bumped this fine dude and he stopped her and was like ‘Miss, you bumped me’ In my mind im thinkin, oh goodness not again. Then she says ‘I what?’ smiling then he walked over and then HE BAGGED HER! I’m like what? That’s how we holla now, girls and guys bump each other and start talkin?! Then Bronson told us a story of how he witnessed this couple together then another man approached them like ‘my mans, this ya girl?’ the boyfriend said yeah, then he went to the girl saying ‘Well shorty, when you want a BETTER man, come check me!’ DISRESPECTFUL!!

[FAST FORWARD]

Micky Dees closes and we look for another spot to hang, we wallk a couple blocks down and find a 24 hour white castle to sit in, along the way we come across all these adult stores [o_o] and even a transgender person, [he was a bad bxtch tho] So we chilling in white castle talking about complete nonsense and people start coming into white castle including some Navy boys, looking all drunk and stuff. And while we are laughing and joking a white castle burger contain comes flying over to us and hits Chanel in her face. I SWEAR this happened in slow motion. She instantly yelled ‘OH HELL NO!’ I didn’t know what to do, I sat there and debated do I wanna be a hood booger and pop off, or just grab Nelly and escort her out the restaurant?  But as I debated Nelly went off yelling ‘Let’s go! I am ready to go!’  THEN these two random black dudes that were there were like ‘ where ya’ll from?’ the Navy man responded ‘Maryland’ then the black dude said “oh Maryland huh? BUT here in NEW YORK, when we do stupid shxt, we apologize for it, you better say sorry! Cuz I don’t think you did, cuz I didn’t hear it!’ Before I could hear what else happened I went outside to calm Nelly down. Bronson held her you know told her not to worry about it and everything was over let’s just go home.  Then he said ‘I thought I was gonna have to fight cuz you know I would but damn son, I can’t fight a man in the Navy, they ready to die, I just live in Brooklyn!’ [LMAO!]

Chanel :D

FAST FORWARD

We played it safe and took the 7 train instead of the E in case it wasn’t working. As we waited for the 7 we sat on the bench and talked more bullshxt. Then a homeless looking man approached me with pizza crust hanging out his mouth like a cigar he said ‘ I need to get on the metro north to go home.’ He wanted to go somewhere upstate..but the Metro North doesn’t go there [sus!] then he said ‘ I have 88 cents, I need 32 more cents’ Chanel said ‘ you aint getting nowhere with that.’ BUT as soon as we reached into our pockets for change the ans says ‘ACTUALLY I need a dollar 32’ [say what?! How you change it up?! Now you need a dollar 32?] so whatever, I give him some change, but he drops it [-_- & his pizza crust fell on my shoe] he gets upset like ‘aww damn, I done dropped my pizza’ he throws the crust in train tracks and places something on the ground, I look down and this nigga had a 4 loko! I said PAUSE ‘how do you not have money to get home but you buying a 4 LOKO!!!!??’ some random as black dude, who was like rollin 7 deep goes. “Nah hold up, 4 Lokos are the shxt!’ [LMAO!] Im thinkin, first of all, who are you? 2nd when the hell you get here?! Then Chanel says ‘But if you have nothing, why buy something you don’t need. How you getting home?’  the man says ‘FXCK THAT! After 4 Loko all that is secondary!’  then he pulls out his phone and starts playing ‘wasted’ by Gucci and im like ‘nobody wants to hear that, we’re sober’ then he sayd ‘WELP!, shoulda had a 4 loko mothafxcka!’ in a Dave Chappelle voice [ I had to walk away it was toooooooo funny] . As soon as I got up one of his boys held his chest and exclaimed “Good LORD! I didn’t know she had all that ass, my goodness!’ [-__-] then I was being swiss cheesed. FINALLY the 7 train came and we began to bored Bronson & Che went home after we boarded the train, while ‘7 deep’ waited to see if they would come with us. [These fools out here be disrespectful, what one of them boys was my man? You waiting for him to go away for a chance lol] We rode the 7 to Roosevelt and continued out journey back to school, I finally hit the bed at 6:30am . WHAT  A NIGHT!

'Good Lord, didn't know she had all that ass!'

Jungle Fever

So often times my roommates and I will have these "Black Women Forums". We will discuss different thins from dating to the rainbow coalition.

'But you stay right, girl
But when you get on, he leave yo' ass for a white girl'

A couple times we have discussed interracial dating. Then we went off on talking about jungle fever. [I've got jungle fever, she's got jungle fever
We've got jungle fever, we're in love!] Jungle fever goes both ways to me.

When referring to it, people assume jungle fever is a male thing, For example I looked up 'Jungle Fever' in google images and most of the pictures were of black men with a white woman. [Try it and see for yourself].

But women can have jungle fever too! [Halle Berry?

I personally think she can rock, why? because he is a damn good looking man, AND her past relationships she was with black men & what did they do? they CHEATED! Who cheats on HALLE BERRY?! smh. [fools do!

I guess black women just stay more in their race when it comes to dating?

The video below I found on youtube from the movie 'Jungle Fever'. I think its funny.

I feel like this shows all the things some black women WANT to say but never do.

What is your take on 'jungle fever' and interracial dating? [comment below]

Sesame Street Song

I love my hair :)

So my roommate came across this video, she posted it on my facebook wall.  This is a song from Sesame Street [you all know Sesame Street, we ALL grew up watching it]. This song shows this cute little puppet [a lil black girl] talking about how much she loves her hair.

As you see, her hair is NATURAL! Just like mine. I thought this song was simply adorable. Telling/teaching little black girls to appreciate and love your natural black hair. Steer away from the creamy crack! [sorry- I'm anti-perm since i went natural]. This video shows all the different styles you can do with your beautiful, natural hair.

My fro :)

My roommate said she posted this because she said the little puppet reminded her of me.  Also saying she looks like me and i always express how i love my natural hair.

Shouts to all my natural fro sisters.
